The former All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) aspirant to represent Nnewi North Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly and President General of Okpuneze, Uruagu, Nnewi, Chief Ambassador Charles Nwonye paid last respect to his elder sister, Mrs Obiageli Austine Okeke who died after a protracted illness at the age of 58.
Ambassador Nwonye who has the title of High Chief Eziokwu Atuegwu 1 of Igboland while receiving sympathizers on Saturday at his residence in Okpuneze Uruagu Nnewi described his late sister as a benevolent woman that showed him love as her younger brother.
He said he remembered how the deceased took care of him after his secondary education uptil when he went for apprenticeship in business.
“Mrs Okeke married to Edorji was my elder sister. We lived together. She died after a protracted illness which we will not wish anybody. In everything, we give thanks to God because He knows everything. But we do not pray for this kind of death to strike in our family again.
“I remember our elder sister when she was feeding me and she always gave me words of encouragement. She was a very kind sister.
“She encouraged me during the years of my apprenticeship which I did for five years after my education.
“Her goodness to me was unquantifiable and indelible to my heart, “he concluded.
Many distinguished personalities including the Obi of Uruagu, Obi Afam Obi; Chief Innocent Okoli, an oil magnet and the CEO of Organizer Oil & Gas; the member representing Nnewi North Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Ike Edorji, among others graced the event.
