Former National Assembly member representing Njikoka, Anaocha and Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Hon Dozie Nwankwo has described the Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo as a true democrat who has continued to unleash democracy dividend to citizens, and has now entrenched democracy at the grassroots level with the Council elections.
Addressing journalists at his Enuagu Ward polling centre, Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka Council Area, Saturday, after casting his ballot in the Council election, Hon Nwankwo paid glowing tribute to the Governor for what he called his giant development and democratic strides all over the State.
“I’m an All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) member; our people, the citizens of Anambra State are happy with our dear Governor, Prof Soludo.
“With this election, he has proved that he is a true and committed democrat. He has shown his respect for the citizens and the nation’s Constitution.
“He’s a solution provider. You can see that the Council election was peaceful in all the 21 Councils Areas of the State.
As you all saw here, just as reports indicated from parts of the State, everyone voted their choice of candidate.
“APGA is the party to beat, because we are the party on ground.
“With the conclusion of council election it will enhance cohesion and focus. We will continue to support him for more services to the citizens.
“Council election is a clear message that democracy is firm at the grassroots, “he noted.
Nwankwo also appealed to citizens of Nigeria to exercise some more patience with the Federal Government and the State.
“I urge the people to work harder for the economy to improve. It’s a collective role.
“It’s our prayers for the duty bearers to succeed in turning around the economy.
” Let’s pray for God’s guidance, strength and more positive initiatives, “he added.
