LG election: I’m coming as Chairman to offer Idemili South real democracy dividends, says Nnokolo, LP candidate

The Idemili South Labour Party Chairman and Local Government Chairmanship candidate under the platform of LP Nnokolo Timothy has called out voters in the Council Area to vote enmass for the LP candidate come September 28.

He made the appeal at Anaedo Hall, Nnewi during a special sensitization workshop and stakeholders prayer organized by the Anambra United Coalition for Good Governance (AUCGG) in support of his colleague, Dr Chidiebere Nonso Uba contesting for Nnewi North Council Area Chairmanship under the same LP.

Speaking, Nnokolo said that Abure and his cohorts’ tenure had expired, adding that on September 4, 2024, a conference was organized at Abia State where new National Working Committee members were elected with Usman Nenadi as the National Chairman and Peter Okoye, the State Chairman

He called the rumors circulating on social media that LP members were in court as fake, disclosing that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said that Julius Abure was no longer LP National Chairman, labeling his continued claim to the position as illegal and unconstitutional.

Nnokolo who has been party chairman for sixteen years now said LP conducted primary which produced the best candidates in all the 21 Local Government Areas in Anambra State for the forthcoming polls.

“By Special grace of God, LP will produce the next Local Government Chairmen for all the Local Government Areas in Anambra State, “he said.

Nnokolo said Dr Uba, a candidate for Nnewi North Chairmanship election remained a good candidate for the position.

He urged the masses to vote wisely on September 28 promising them that their votes would count.

Hon Nwokolo said his mission to become the Idemili South Local Government Chairman is to offer quality governance.

He promised to ensure responsible and responsive government at the grassroots level which he said the local government represented.

He assured of dividends of democracy in all ramifications for the people of Idemili South.
