Bishop Isizoh ignites faith, culture shine as Marist College, Nteje stages spectacular triple celebration

Marist Comprehensive College, Nteje, came alive with faith, culture, and family bonding on Saturday, June 6, 2026, as it hosted a memorable Triple Celebration that united the Pastoral Visit and Sacrament of Confirmation, the Feast of St. Marcellin Champagnat, and the College Cultural Fiesta in one grand event.


Divine Blessings and Confirmation


The day began with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by the Catholic Bishop of the Aguleri Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Denis Isizoh. In his inspiring homily, Bishop Isizoh urged the faithful, particularly the confirmation candidates, to remain steadfast in their Christian faith and become worthy ambassadors of Christ in society.


During the Mass, the Bishop administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to students, invoking the gifts of the Holy Spirit upon them.

The liturgy was concelebrated by visiting priests, religious brothers and sisters, alongside several diocesan dignitaries.


Among the distinguished guests were representatives of Stella Maris, Aguleri, the Marist Comprehensive College Nteje Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) Chairman, Chief Amobi, the Vice Chairman, and other notable personalities.


Celebrating the Legacy of St. Marcellin Champagnat


Following the spiritual exercises, the school community celebrated the Feast of St. Marcellin Champagnat, founder of the Marist Brothers.

A moving biography of the saint was presented by MCCN’s Miss Champagnat and Miss Culture.


Speakers highlighted the enduring virtues of St. Marcellin Champagnat, encouraging students to emulate his humility, commitment to education, hard work, and deep Christian values.


Culture, Colours and Family Spirit


The atmosphere shifted into a vibrant display of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage as students thrilled guests with traditional dances, cultural exhibitions, indigenous attire, and captivating musical performances during the College Cultural Fiesta.


One of the major highlights of the event was the crowning of the MCCN Master and Miss Champagnat 2026, alongside the MCCN Master and Miss Culture 2026.
The celebration also doubled as a special visiting day, attracting parents and guardians in large numbers.

Families shared meals, laughter, and memorable moments with their children, reinforcing the cherished Marist Family Spirit.


In a statement, the management of Marist Comprehensive College expressed profound appreciation to Bishop Isizoh, members of the clergy, dignitaries, parents, and all stakeholders whose support contributed to the remarkable success of the event.


The triple celebration ended on a high note, leaving participants with lasting memories of faith, cultural pride, and community fellowship.
