An aspirant for Anambra South upcoming Senatorial zone by-election under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Samben Nwosu has said that those who complain about hardship have refused to apply their brain.

He noted that Ndị Igbo are known for their entrepreneurship and advised that the culture must be maintained to overcome economic hardship.

He disclosed this during Otolo day, held at the Igwe’s Palace, December 30, 2024.

Prince Nwosu declared that people should not expect to eat, if they failed to work.

He said if people could disregard heavy reliance on government, that the result would be self-reliance and increase in productivity to fight hunger and poverty.

Nwosu promised the people of Anambra South that he would sponsor programmes that would expose the constituents to be productive and responsible, to create an enabling environment for them to excel in their various endeavours.

He added that his representation would initiate some enabling laws in the National Assembly that would assist people at the grassroots to be able to develop their own financial capacity, adding that the possibility is there.

Nwosu encouraged the youths to work hard, believe in themselves and go back to artisanship, saying that they should shun fraud, laziness and any form of criminality and be good citizens.

“As we bid farewell to 2024 and welcome a new year, I am filled with hope and determination for a brighter future for our beloved Senatorial district.

“In the face of recent challenges, including the abduction of our retired Archbishop, Most Revd Prof G.I.N. Okpala, though now released, and the tragic killing of a Roman Catholic priest in Ihiala, Rev. Fr. Tobias Okonkwo, I pray that God would grant us the strength and resilience to overcome these difficult times. Of course, I have my masterplan for security in the zone as a lawmaker, if elected.

“As your Senatorial aspirant, I pledge to tackle the pressing issues of insecurity, youth unemployment, and women’s empowerment head-on. With God on our side, I am confident that we would overcome these challenges and get to the promised land this year, 2025.

“Together, we have marched into the New Year with hope, faith, and determination. I wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year, “he concluded.
